What is Postpartum Care?

You’ve prepared for birth but what about after baby is here?

According to Ayurveda, the first forty days after birth—also called the “sacred window”—are the most critical for the mother’s long-term health. It is a time when the body is most vulnerable, yet also most receptive to healing.

As an Ayurvedic postpartum doula, I provide intentional care designed to:

✨ Rebuild warmth and stability through food, herbs, and ritual

✨ Nourish and strengthen digestion and immunity

✨ Calm the nervous system and restore emotional balance

✨ Tend to the heart, womb, and spirit with bodywork, oils, and gentle presence

This care includes abhyanga (warm oil treatment), belly binding, spiced healing meals, herbal baths, and soothing teas—all tailored to your unique constitution and birth story.

Book a consult here and I look forward to connecting.

About

My name is Melissa Giselle, and I am a certified postpartum doula through the Center for Sacred Window Studies. I walk alongside mothers during one of life’s most profound thresholds—birth into motherhood.

My work is rooted in the wisdom of Ayurvedic postpartum care, where nourishment, warmth, and rest are not luxuries but necessities for healing and thriving. I believe that when a mother is held in reverence, the entire family flourishes.

Through nourishing meals, abhyanga oil treatments, marma therapy, belly binding, and a calm, steady presence, I offer care that restores the nervous system, rebuilds the body, and honors the deep emotional transformation of postpartum.

At the heart of my work is a deep devotion:

To tend to mothers as sacred.

To weave warmth and slowness into this tender time.

To help each mother feel seen, softened, and supported.

This is more than care—

It is a ceremony.

It is restoration.

It is a remembering of how things once were—and how they can be again.

I look forward to walking beside you as you cross this threshold.
